Vanuatu Citizenship And Residency

I've lived in Vanuatu for a year. Life's laid back, people are friendly. Not much in terms of modern amenities, but it's peaceful.

I heard it's a great place to retire. Low cost of living and beautiful beaches. But I guess the investment for citizenship is too high for the average Joe. 🤔
I agree, the investment is steep. But maybe it's worth it for the tax benefits?

Vanuatu has an amazing natural environment. It's a paradise for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful life.

I've been reading up on Vanuatu's passport and there were some concerns raised in 2022 about the integrity of their citizenship by investment program. Seems like there were issues with due diligence.

Not to mention, I read that because of these concerns, Vanuatu passports might face stricter scrutiny abroad. Could be a hassle when traveling.

That’s concerning! 😟 Does this mean holding a Vanuatu passport could make international travel more difficult?

Indeed, Jennifer. The issues in 2022 led to increased skepticism from other countries. It might result in more visa rejections or entry denials for Vanuatu passport holders.

Plus, I think there were talks about some countries reviewing their visa-waiver agreements with Vanuatu because of these concerns.

I read that natural disasters like cyclones are common in Vanuatu. That's a major downside to living there.

Well, I'm not packing my bags yet! 😂 But this chat has been super informative. Maybe I'll just stick to visiting Vanuatu for now. 🏖️ Thanks, team!

It's really helpful to hear all these perspectives. Does anyone know if there's a language barrier for English speakers in Vanuatu?

English is one of the official languages of Vanuatu, along with Bislama and French. You'll find most people in urban areas can communicate in English.

Just curious, what about the internet and mobile connectivity in Vanuatu? Is it reliable for someone who works remotely?
